A window of opportunity for the Burren, Ireland
Minister Michael Creed meets farmers from the HNV-Link seminar
The Burren region is currently a real change-leader (and recently received the EU LIFE 25th anniversary award for the BurrenLIFE Project) but many challenges – and a significant window of opportunity - remain. An innovation seminar took place in the Burren of Ireland in July. A total of 60 participants, including local farmers and a range of national and local organisations worked on:
- Discussing and agreeing on a vision for High Nature Value farming in the Burren.
- Identifying the main barriers to realizing this vision.
- Identifying the key innovations required to overcome these barriers and create new opportunities.
- Discussing the development of a dissemination strategy to promote key innovations.
